So here some important helpful campus safety tips to stay safe on any campus:

• Know Your On-Campus Emergency Contact Info- It is important that you get and save your campus emergency phone number(s) along with police department in your phone. Save the numbers as YOUR CAMPUS NAME SECURITY so it is easily recognizable. 
• Locate the Blue Light Telephones- Most American colleges and universities, if not all, have blue light telephones around campus. These phones are for emergency calls. Find them and get familiar with them.

• Walk In Groups - Try not to walk by yourself on campus. Walk in groups. Perpetrators tend to think twice when they see group vs a lone walker.
• Lock Your Doors - When you are in your dorm room or apartment, make sure your doors are always locked. It's not paranoia. It's safety awareness.
• You See You Act - If you see something or someone out of place, report to the nearest campus security. Be your community protector.
• Party Smart- Always have a designated driver when you party. Or call for ride share, responsibly. Don't leave your drink unattended to. Don't accept open drinks from strangers.
• Be Aware of Your Surroundings - Always pay attention to your environment. Be vigilant. Be cautious. Most times, you are able to avert danger when you are aware. Put your phone aware at the bus stop or train station.
